OLD HATS - the beach hat tournament for Great Grandmasters (and those who like to become one soon)

The Game Plan & Rules

• The Schedule: Every team gets 8 games, 35 minutes each. First, you’ll play against 7 of the 9 other teams. Based on those results, we’ll generate the standings, followed by one final placement game for everyone (including the grand finale!).
• Game End: When the buzzer sounds, finish the point currently in progress.
• **Ties: Draws are totally fine and allowed during the 7-games-preround! The only exception is the final placement game: if it's a tie after the final point, you will play one decisive Universe Point.
• Hard Cap: 13 points.
• Time-Outs: Each team gets 1 time-out per game.

Gender Ratio & Pulls

Our preferred gender ratio is a constant 2 FMP + 3 MMP throughout the entire tournament. Please keep in mind that pulls should still be thrown equally by all genders. To make this easier to remember, you and your opponents can agree on using "gen-zones" or stick to the ABBA rule just for the pulls.

Team representatives will fairly determine which team gets first choice between: Whether to receive or throw the initial pull or which end zone they want to defend first. The other team takes the remaining option. At halftime (as soon as the first team reaches 7 points), these initial selections are switched.

When in Doubt... If there's ever any confusion on the field, the current official Beach Ultimate rules always apply. Other than that: relax, take good care of each other, and share the love—after all, it’s just a game!
